We are delighted to announce that we can now offer our ‘Reservists’ the chance to upskill with free digital skills training from our Australian partners, WithYouWithMe (WYWM).
WYWM is an Australian based tech skills provider, with whom we share the desire to help train and empower civilians with resilience skills to relieve the burden on the military and front-line services in times of need.
Everyone who registers with UKCR as a Reservist and commits to training with us, will be offered the chance to take part in WYWM’s aptitude testing which identifies individuals who have the natural propensity to quickly pick up tech skills. Individuals are then provided with access to over £2,500 worth of digital skills training – such as cyber security or software development – equipping them with transferrable skills for a variety of sectors, which could allow individuals to simultaneously pursue a career in their preferred field.
This program enables UKCR and WYWM to support individuals who may never have considered a career in technology to quickly upskill and step into employment. Many people have untapped potential to quickly learn digital skills and matched to a high-demand roles. Veterans and those within the neurodivergent community, for example, could be given the opportunity to upskill and find a vocation that works to their particular strengths.
Sir James Everard, Former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander for NATO and Senior Advisor to WithYouWIthMe, said: “Building a resilient digital workforce is essential for the UK and that requires leaders and key decision makers to be willing to adapt and be bold in their practices. If you take care of people and empower them, they will be successful, and that is vital in training up the next wave of digital workers.”
Please help us to spread the word to those individuals who would really benefit from this amazing opportunity.
